Origins of the Stig
The cool night time air brushed the various races of Stigsun, yet for Stigasaurus Alpha, he could barely rest, or savour the cool breeze. He stood quite still, his mind heavily disturbed, glancing up at the darkening violet sky that hung overhead like a gigantic, distant roof; the planet's only moon hung in the sky tonight, shining in all its magenta glory. It was correct to say he was observing the moon; the outline of his scaled T-rex shaped body was bathed in magenta as he just studied the moon, his topaz orange eyes unblinking and fixed onto the circular object.
"Stigasaurus Alpha?" a voice no, a sound wave, a
Oh those Mercury cars
how I love them so
from the beauty of 1949
with its curves and chrome
flathead rumbling along
with long hood out front
the fenders way down low
and then
the 1950 and 1951
both cool, both fun
through the early 50's
up to the Montclair of 1955
with its chrome wing on the side
it's big toothy grin up front
looking mean, looking hungry
the sound of it's motor thumping
with dust rolling out behind
as it gets up to top end speed
roaring along
through the empty night
these are what dreams are made of
these were the cars
that made me happy
so let's comb back our hair
and roll those windows down
I can hear the engines whining

I don't know why I'm not making this a Journal entry, but I figured I needed to make this something a bit more notable since this is less just a blog post on an art hosting site and more an essay I felt like I needed to write.
Ever since I was a small boy I was enamored with racing, from Indy and F1 to watching the original Speed Racer. I don't think it was just racing either, it was speed. I had lots of books full of racing cars and achievements in speed: I knew the X-1, X-15A2 and Blackbird were great achievements in speed, that the Budweiser Rocket was at the time unofficially the world's fastest car and that I wanted to see cars go faste

Now You're Gone: Part 1.
Now you're gone.
I emerged from the hospital. It was dark now but it had felt like this all day. In a way, it felt as if everything around me should be dark. A horrid painful dark colour. I couldn't believe it. He was now gone. When you loose someone it feels like the minutes have turned into seconds. You want them to stay forever. But forever isn't enough. I couldn't believe he was gone. My husband. My baby. My Richard. One thing that kills most people killed him. The man who conquered everything that faced him in his past. But not this. Cancer. Cancer, one of the most strongest man-kind illnesses that had hardly any cure only when first di

Tonight: Hamster wears a helmet, I talk on a walkie-talkie, and James drinks coffee.

"You're mad," I said, as I had on many occasions.
"This is brilliant!" said James, the designated supporter of yet another strange challenge.
"No," I said flatly, "It's not. It wouldn't be a good idea even if it was built better than this."
"She's right mate," said Jeremy, "It's rubbish." we were all standing around, staring at a 'convertible people carrier'*. And a very poorly built one at that.
"And now you get to drive it at 100 miles an hour! Won't that be fun?" I said, over-enthusiastically, "Who's going to be
